I have a Toshiba Qosmio G20 notebook, running Windows XP MCE. The onboard DVD player isn't sounding very good so I thought I'd hook up an external DVD player in order to extend it's use. After much searching on the internet, I finally found out how to do this. Here is my setup. Using the monitor-in port I used the adapter to the 3 RCA jacks. (There's no S-video on the DVD player and an adapter didn't work). I finally found out that in order to get the picture to the screen, I must use Fn+4.
Now here's where I'm having the problem. I cannot get the video to show on my external LCD monitor. Fn+5 didn't do it. The monitor is an I-inc AH191D and is connected by the VGA cable. There is no driver other than one for the VISTA OS. Therefore it is not listed anywhere in Device Manager.
Below are the settings I use in order to have everything that shows on my desktop, shows on the monitor. From the Control Panel opened to Display. Properties Number 1 chosen- Multiple Monitors GeForce Go6600 video card. Under Advanced the GeForce G06600 Tab, nViewDisplay Mode: clone 1a 1b Primary Display: Digital Flat Panel Secondary Display: AH191 I have also tried using the Toshiba Controls Properties. Under the TV-out it says a TV Out but does give program options but I don't know what I would use. Any ideas out there?
